Such fun since the summer dog dayz have departed, we are deep in the beauty of the south. From the shoreline to the mountains - color is brilliant! My family has had a wonderful summer, and now we are back into the swing of things -lietrally. We have traveled to Michigan, Chicago, Indiana, South Carolina, Virginia, California and back again...now we are headed into the winter back, complete with our "fall back" in time with our clocks...
Next weekend we will be in Kentucky for a special ARCA racing weekend ~ Cumberland Falls, a whole hearted country ho down, complete with BBQ, zip lines, hiking, drinking and bon fires. I cannot wait to put my feet up and roast marshmellows...
A new journey is also approaching for Sheldon, as he recently joined a network with amazing financial growth, and healthy benefits as well. http://sheldonholman.vemma.com/
We are blessed with both our home based businesses doing so well, and the freedom we are able to enjoy with it.
Paige is enjoying her zoom zoom freedom aka the new car, her job, school work (all A's one B) , and the independance that goes along with all the fun of being 17...
Clayton is loving middle school, so far :) and really enjoyed his one on one time with Sheldon, 36 hrs each way to California and back...lots of guy time. He is about to be a teenager, is a honor roll student (A's & B's) as well...has mostly the same teachers Paige had - which he hates, because he is always compared to her..and known as "bubby" Paige's little brother...oh well let the dysfunction begin - lol.
I hope this blog update finds everyone healthy, happy and employed through these tough times., if you are looking for answers to making ends meet, or just want to suppliment your JOB, just over broke income - call either of us..we would be glad to tell you all about the adventures!

Happy Summer Reading...
Wow, the beach, the lake two summer vacations back to back - and my reading list is endless. My boys2men of the house have headed out west., and bubby could not be more excited. We learned of potential work, since the Screen Actors Guild voted not to strike - you could hear Sheldons YIPPEE all the way across the state - so the summer of movie work is ON! and his companion along the trip is our blue eyed wonder boy bub. Girls left home to their own devices, are reading, blogging, working and weeding - yikes someone has to do the yard work ! We are missing our guys, but happily eating popcorn for dinner, and channel surfing our Bravo TV lineup.
Our blog has taken a back seat to the summer fun, and facebook! We hope to post more as life throws our curve balls, but right now I would settle for a good old fashion scary thunderstorm...
we always need the rain! any suggestions for movies, reads or simple fun ? love to share, as always call or write - love and hugs to all!

Car Photos with Paige...

she finally has her new car, at the ripe old age of 16.5 I think she really NEVER thought we would get around to buying one...But being the very smart, safety expert her poppy is- he wanted the prefect car to get her through high school and college...as safely as possible. She loves it, hated the two weeks of rain we have had, and even threw a fit when she saw the prices at AutoBell for a full service wash...ahhh the pleasantries of being mom- I got to watch her squirm...and vow the sweep out her own interior at home...I am trying to reformat the video...my brother Corey said tis like watching one of those B rated slasher movies, when you hear the creaking of the garage door as it slowly opens to reveal Paige's shock and tears at seeing her new car. Either way, hugs from the south - blessings and blooms to y'all have a great Easter.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG IN THE CAROLINAS!

I was beginning to think we moved to Seattle with all the rain we have been having, but warmer days and sunshine has broken through! We have been busy as always, squeezing as much living into life as we possibly can that we have forgotten to log on, check in , and update as much as possible. You'd think we all the weekend warrior activities dampened by the torrential rain, we would have been online with more to share. But - there are too many avenues and too many facebook/email/dvr/dishes in the sink distractions to keep up with it all, let alone keeping up with the Holmans....I have been quickly settling into my new routine of trying to keep my car lighter, saving on gas - being greener when able, and following tons of blogs, and articles on saving saving saving...for what if any financial future we (or the country) may have. Hope this blog finds you well...adventures and pictures to be posted soon!

I HAVE BEEN PUNKED!
Well, after a long much needed Saturday of avoiding shopping/lunch/and more shopping invites from friends, I managed one coffee break, and completely cleaned my house in the anticipation that I would be flying to California sometime before Sunday night, to accompany my husband home on his road trip across country.I received a call from Shel-my sweet hubby, stating that the flight (compliments of a fellow racer friends frequent flier miles), would actually be at 7pm Saturday night., it was now 4:10pm.
Ugh, I am not a fly by the seat of your pants flier anymore, since 1992 BC (before children) I am a slow packer, slower planner when it comes to my two children, 1 dog, and two cats...so needless to say I was in a panic. Managed to dry my hair slightly and pack ( a duffle bag of sweats, socks and undies - and two books if the conversation in 37hrs of road trip madness took a turn for the quiet )Knock at the door, accomplice #1., my friend Stephanie, who had been on me all day to "stop cleaning, lets go to Ikea, lets go to lunch, lets go have a drink, I will get you to the airport in plenty of time"...She is ready to roll, kids are taken care of, and all I have to do is be at the Emabassy Suites to meet our mutual racer friend and pick up the freq flier certificate. We made it through the saturday night mall traffic across Speedway Blvd, pull into the suites and I am up the elevator to the 11th (yes Honors Suites) floor., I am thinking "wow Tony (our racer friend) has connections, they stay in the nice rooms."
Before I could text a note to relay this information to Steph who is waiting down at the drop off zone, I knocked on the door to room 1119...and the door flies open..to my husband with roses and champagne. ! (Mr Accomlice #2,)I screamed - of course my heart was beating 110 mph, thinking dang I am in such a hurry, hope Tony and his wife Shannon arent in a chatty mood, --- and there is my husband grinning ear to ear, saying 'surprise'...My friends and wonderful hubby had planned since THURSDAY morning, his return drive home and a weekend surprise for me...so alot of texting/talking and planning on their part - and I was stunned.
We had a wonderful night, no kids, no phones, and met up with Tony & Shannon at our church, went to breakfast and met the kids who were at Cracker Barrell with Stephanie and Blake(accomplice #3 and wonderful extra husband when needed) . What a great group of friends, and Ashton Kutcher couldnt have punked me any better. :)

Krafty Kim

I think I was meant to be a pre-school teacher...or maybe I was in a previous Ben Franklin era...I am addicted to the whole craft project, and like my other OCD behavior jump in mouth first, and unsteady hands later. I managed in the last 16 years, cross-stitched (and won awards) painted, done the old country store themed house, painted and worked my way through 10 years of ceramics, made Spud McKenzie dogs for my dad's co-workers at GM pool table rooms, made hook rugs, tried to learn to knit, and weaved pot holders. I made trivets in Junior Achievement, my own wood frames, and painted anything that didn't stand still. Lawn ornaments, birthday party favors, pots for plants, my toes...etc..
So, you wonder where could I have imagined myself at the ripe old age of 40+ ..designing water bottles for my little niece's 7yr old cheer team, whoo let the crafty wars begin.
I have a closet filled (call it closet addiction) of over 100 various magazines, for cutting into pieces for my decopage art..but I am so stingy with my clippings I hardly ever glue them into the projects, I had good intentions to use my modpodge glue and create frames, prayer journals, more cermaic pots, glue glue glue..but I instead have a very nice collection of words/flowers/design inspirations in a gorgeous victoria secret pink box. I sit endlessly (yes you wonder when I have time) and clip clip clip my way into infinity.

never say never....

well I was re-reading my past blogs and checking up on old wishes and goals...which brought to mind my kitchen remodel wishes. I had very clearly stated...no roosters. Well hush my mouth, this is the fabric we found, and were immediately drawn to and I had to take a photo of the crazy ROOSTERS to prove it...
and the sign that states it all..which I promptly bought it says
"trust your crazy ideas"...so my project of choice right now is the kitchen, one gallon of paint at a time, and eventually it will all come together. The vibrant colors jumped at me..and I think its a good positive outlook for the new year, and my new kitchen theme. Dont hold the Roosters...never say never!

I've been two faced...
Ha, gotcha! I have joined facebook and let me tell you it is one major fun site. Scared as I was to 'join' its been fun. And I feel like I have let my little blogspot down :( But I have so much to say, and such little gigabite space...there is room in cyberworld for all my ramblings. We have had a wonderful wacky family two weeks of freedom from the alarm clock, and tomorrow morning the bells will be ringing. Kids are back to school, and my monday madness (which is wonderfully quiet with just me and Brumley on the couch) begins. Brum has a head start, as he got a shave and bath tonight, so he is resting just behind me as I speak (type) I hate to move him to his nightly crate...anyway, we have a full week ahead, and a wonderful full of possibilities NEW YEAR's outlook - hold on to your hats, 2009 will be devine!
